Location Pastor (Portable Campus)
Fulshear, TX

Summary of Position
The Location Pastor leads a Newlands Church portable campus — owning both the pastoral care of the congregation and the operational execution of a weekly portable worship experience. Every Sunday, this person turns a rented space into a church, leads a volunteer team through setup and teardown, and ensures people encounter God in a building that isn't theirs.

Modeling Biblical Priorities
Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Newlands Church. The team member should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ.

These objectives are accomplished by:
  • Committing to a daily quiet-time with God.
  • Participating in and/or leading a Newlands Church group on a regular basis.
  • Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
  • Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
  • Supporting the ministries of Newlands Church by faithfully tithing.
  • Adhering to and encompassing the Core Vision and Values of Newlands Church employees

Principal Responsibilities
Sunday Execution & Portable Operations
The LP is the leader of Sunday mornings from beginning to end.
  • Owning the full Sunday timeline from volunteer call-time through teardown completion.
  • Making real-time decisions when things go wrong — without waiting for central leadership.
  • Building and maintaining a setup/teardown volunteer team large enough to sustain weekly operations without burnout.
  • Managing venue relationships to ensure continued access and positive partnerships.
  • Preaching a full message when called upon or if technology fails.
  • Delivering Biblical teaching and leading worship elements across all group settings, adapting creatively within portable constraints.

Strategic Leadership & Campus Growth
The LP champions the Newlands Church vision at the campus level.
  • Leading an intentional meeting rhythm to clarify and execute church goals at the campus level.
  • Monitoring and reporting campus health.
  • Proactively surfacing problems that hinder growth with recommended solutions
  • Managing the campus budget with fiscal responsibility and timely reporting.

Volunteer Leadership & Accountability
The LP must relentlessly invest in recruiting, training, and retaining a volunteer base large enough to sustain operations and ministry.
  • Setting clear expectations so volunteer leaders know what "done well" looks like each Sunday.
  • Championing Newlands culture in huddles and briefings — making every volunteer feel part of something that matters.
  • Conducting regular check-ins that celebrate growth and address gaps without delay.
  • Building a leadership pipeline deep enough that no single absence cripples a Sunday.
  • Coaching volunteer leaders toward increasing competency and independent ownership of their ministries.
  • Rallying teams with energy and genuine appreciation every week — not just once.

Congregational Shepherding & Pastoral Care
In a portable environment, the building can't create a sense of home — the pastor does. Relational warmth, genuine care, and visible presence are non-negotiable.
  • Knowing people by name, remembering their stories, and showing up during life's critical moments.
  • Creating a culture of belonging where every person feels seen and valued.
  • Providing pastoral counseling and crisis support with empathy, appropriate boundaries, and timely referral when needed.

Groups & Local Outreach
The LP oversees Groups and Local Outreach at their location:
  • Championing the Newlands Church groups model and driving participation.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing group leaders.
  • Partnering with the Central Global Pastor to establish local outreach relationships.
  • Executing local outreach events, including the logistical demands unique to portable campuses.
